JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant/Associate Professor of Veterinary Science is a full-time 10-month tenure-track position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver didactic and clinical instruction in radiology laboratory and biomedical procedures and large and small animal diseases within the Veterinary Technology program.
- Provide veterinary care for in-house and research animals ensuring health welfare and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Contribute to extension activities that support community engagement and knowledge dissemination.
- Participate in student recruitment efforts including outreach events and program promotion.
- Engage in research and extension initiatives aligned with departmental goals and professional expertise.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by the department or program leadership.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
- Eligible for licensure to practice Veterinary Medicine in the State of Georgia.
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in veterinary practice with a preference for large animal practice.
- Proficient in the use of veterinary hospital software systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior clinical teaching experience in veterinary medicine.
- Advanced post-DVM degree (e.g. MS PhD or board certification).
- Demonstrated potential for research and success in securing external funding.
- International teaching experience in the veterinary field particularly within Colleges of Veterinary Medicine.
