Job Summary

Weekend Physiotherapist - Orthopaedics
Maximum Term Part-Time Weekend Contract - 22.8 hours (three days) per fortnight until January 2027 with the possibility of extension and/or permanency
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate Physiotherapist to provide excellent care for our patients as a key member of our weekend physiotherapy service. As a Physiotherapist working in Orthopaedics you will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team applying your skillset to patients who have undergone a variety of elective and emergency Orthopaedic procedures.
This will involve but is not limited to:
Assessment and treatment of post-operative and conservatively managed orthopaedic patients;
Fitting and adjusting a variety of braces and supports;
Discharge planning and referral to community services.
About You
To succeed in this role you will be a qualified physiotherapist with proven skills and experience in acute orthopaedics in a hospital setting. Your capacity to provide best practice Physiotherapy input along with your ability to communicate effectively and maintain relationships with patients staff and other stakeholders is essential to this role
Successful candidates will meet the following selection criteria:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Physiotherapy and eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a minimum of 1-2 years post-graduate experience in a hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge skills and experience in acute orthopaedics including a commitment to professional development.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills including ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and make independent clinical decision.
Desirable:Ability to fit and adjust spinal braces including Miami-J and Jewett braces.
