The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense & Space (BDS) is hiring an Entry-Level Industrial Engineer to join the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) team located in Huntsville AL. This position will support the production rate increase and advanced technology upgrade activities. This role will be involved in production support activities as well as continuous development projects improving manufacturing and factory improvement and optimization. The Industrial Engineer will also participate in site wide initiatives with larger impact than just the PAC-3 program.
Boeing Huntsville has multi-year contracts to develop manufacture and test the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missile seeker and future improvements. These contracts are driving significant long-term growth for the PAC-3 engineering team on the Huntsville campus.
Shift Work Statement: This position is for A (1st) Shift. (M-Th; 4x10)
Position Responsibilities:
Applies basic industrial engineering concepts approaches and techniques to product process and services to meet program requirements
Supports the development of plant and equipment layouts capacity plans accident prevention measures sequencing of operations and work flows
Participates in the evaluation of new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations
Assists with designing maintaining and optimizing the production system by integrating design supply base facilities equipment and personnel
Conducts basic work flow design and analysis
Develops simple models databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders
Supports research design develop improve and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance lower cost and improve quality for large scale systems integration and asset utilization
Supports implementation plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods.
Documents product assembly instructions and standardizes assembly practices
Supports the preparation of operations plans includes work statement analysis budgeting and forecasts capacity and constraint analysis and production change to ensure technical goals and objectives are met
Supports execution planning by using project management planning and scheduling and shop load practices
Provides production supply chain logistics performance visibility and recovery planning support
Follows compliance requirements with established industry safety design standards and ergonomic guidelines
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) computer science engineering data science mathematics physics or chemistry
Experience using lean principles
Experience collecting data from multiple sources performing analysis and presenting data
Experience managing projects and/or teams
Experience developing and deploying standards and standard processes
Experience developing metrics and using metrics to drive results and improve the business
Experience with Simio Software
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience developing and maintaining integrated resource-loaded project plans to describe and manage subject statement of work project content sequencing timing / duration and dependencies.
Experience supporting aerospace manufacturing operations in an industrial engineering role utilizing industrial engineering methods processes and tools.
Experience working in Aerospace/Defense manufacturing
Experience working with Electrical/Electronic manufacturing
Experience with rate increase of existing programs
