About this Job


The mission of the Human Resources office is to provide a professional and responsive approach to Public Safety Services human resources needs in the program areas of policies and procedures benefits administration classification and compensation employee administration and human resources-related training and development.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Details:
Please note that jobs at this level often include many of the tasks listed below:

  • Carries out basic departmental duties following established rules and policies. This may include working with other departments or customers.
  • Processes routine paperwork and/or enters data into a department log or database in the servicing of a customer.
  • Develops procedures and guidelines related to the imaging of documents; maintains a log of imaged files; may serve as lead worker over other imaging positions.
  • Prepares requisitions for the purchase of supplies; may involve entering information into an automated system.
  • Compiles information from various sources and prepares specialized reports; formats reports according to department standards.
  • Serves as a clerical assistant to a manager which could include keeping appointment schedules preparing travel issuing directives to others on their behalf and relieving the manager of administrative matters.
  • May begin performing duties related to traditional administrative functions such as property control purchasing and safety in addition to other clerical duties as noted above.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: This is a part-time at will position that is limited to 1245 hours per contract year.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday Friday.

Location:This vacancy is located in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Compensation:The bi-weekly salary offered is as listed below:

      • Administrative Coordinator 3 WAE (AS609) - $1106.60
