Description

We are seeking an experienced OCI Database Engineer to develop and design cloud strategies aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep technical expertise in Oracle Database technologies and cloud solutions with a focus on supporting mission-critical environments in a secure and compliant manner.

  • Architect implement and support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) database solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize cloud database architectures.
  • Ensure high performance availability and security of OCI-based database deployments.
  • Automate provisioning scaling and management of cloud resources using infrastructure-as-code.
  • Must currently hold and have the ability to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly US Clearance.
  • Technical Expertise:
    oStrong knowledge of Oracle Database (versions 12c 19c or newer).
    oProficiency in OCI database services (Autonomous Database DBaaS Exadata Cloud Service).
    oFamiliarity with cloud architecture virtualization and OCI-specific tools (OCI CLI Console and APIs).

Responsibilities

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Database platforms (12c 19c or newer).
  • Proficiency in OCI database services (Autonomous Database Database Cloud Service Exadata Cloud Service).
  • Familiarity with cloud architecture virtualization and OCI-specific tools (OCI CLI Console APIs).

Performance & Troubleshooting:

  • Expertise in SQL query optimization indexing and partitioning.
  • Hands-on experience with performance monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Oracle AWR ASH and OEM.

Cloud & Automation:

  • Understanding of cloud-native principles and tools.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code solutions (Terraform OCI Resource Manager).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python Shell or PL/SQL.

Security & Compliance:

  • Knowledge of database security best practices encryption and compliance standards (e.g. GDPR HIPAA).

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and work effectively within a cross-functional team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications in OCI or related technologies are a plus.
  • Experience supporting federal or defense sector clients.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $120100 to $251600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus equity and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge skills experience market conditions and locations as well as reflect Oracles differing products industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
