Job Summary
The Warehouse Newmarket is seeking a friendly and efficient Self Checkout / Checkout Team Member to join our retail team on a permanent part-time this role you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service whilst operating both traditional and self-checkout systems.
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Operate traditional checkout tills and oversee self-checkout areas
- Process cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently
- Provide guidance to customers using self-checkout systems
- Ensure the checkout area is clean tidy and well-stocked
- Handle customer queries and resolve issues promptly
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of store products and promotions
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak times
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures including health and safety guidelines
Hours of work:
- Fridays & Saturdays - 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Qualifications :
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
- Strong cash handling abilities and basic maths skills
- Proficiency in operating Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Keen attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 15 kg
- Previous retail experience particularly in a checkout role is desirable but not essential
- Ability to work well in a team and independently when required
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
