Job Summary: The Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator for Second Harvest of South Georgia Inc. is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and general upkeep of the organizations facilities. This role involves a combination of hands-on maintenance and administrative responsibilities including coordinating service calls managing vendor relationships and working closely with the operations team to ensure facilities are clean functional and well-maintained. Essential Functions: Facilities Coordination & Administration - Work in conjunction with the Chief Operations Officer and Director of Operations to schedule routine cleaning & maintenance inspections and repairs across all sites.
- Serve as a point of contact for external vendors and contractors related to facilities and building maintenance.
- Calendar contractor visits in accordance with SHSG policies and procedures.
- Track log and follow up on all work orders and service calls.
- Keep leadership team abreast of daily updates relating to all ongoing projects as well as the completion of same.
- Collaborate with the operations team to prioritize urgent repairs and schedule work to minimize disruption to programs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities inspections vendor service reports and warranty information.
Hands-On Maintenance and Regulated Cleaning - Perform basic maintenance tasks including but not limited to light carpentry painting minor plumbing repairs changing light bulbs assembling furniture and general troubleshooting.
- Perform regulated cleaning of warehouse facilities and outside grounds as they pertain to AIB.
- Conduct routine walk-throughs of each facility to identify and address cleaning and maintenance concerns.
- Support seasonal or event-based setup and breakdowns as needed.
Safety & Compliance - Ensure all building systems and equipment comply with standards and codes.
- Access the CEO COO and DOO as mentors for this during the training phase.
- Assist in implementing any new or updated facility cleaning and maintenance procedures and protocols.
- Report any hazards or issues promptly and take appropriate corrective actions.
Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or trade certifications a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of facilities coordination and/or general maintenance experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient with basic hand and power tools.
- Comfortable using basic software for logging work orders and tracking tasks.
- Valid state issued drivers license and reliable transportation preferred.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Regularly required to stand walk bend climb ladders and use tools even when harnessed for safety at heights.
- Work may include exposure to outdoor conditions and occasional off-hours work for emergencies or special projects.
