Selected candidates for a Driver position will be expected to drive a company truck or automobile over established routes to deliver and pickup supplies and products collect payment checks and invoices from customers and ensure complete accuracy of signed paperwork and goods delivered. Transport operators will be responsible for the proper loading and securing all deliverables in trucks guaranteeing safe delivery of customer product and provide customer service by loading and unloading delivery vehicles with the use of forklifts and mechanical pallet jacks. Other duties of a transport operator will include: assisting in receiving and storage of customer product provide desk support customer service for incoming product or pickup palletization and securing of pallets or containers and repair to customer containment as necessary. Candidates must be self-disciplined and self-motivated individuals with strong accountability (attention to details) skills and must adhere to all organization (and customers organization) safety rules and regulations. Candidates must have an acceptable motor vehicle record and working knowledge of any applicable DOT regulations and WA State traffic laws. As a condition of assignment Transport operator candidates may be expected to access information and product controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or Export Administration Regulations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintaining regular and punctual attendance according to shift-times or a pre-arranged work schedule.
- Follow all policies procedures and work instructions.
- Wear and maintain proper personal equipment (PPE).
- Ensure that all products are loaded properly in trucks so that it will ensure the arrival undamaged.
- Drives truck to deliver products to customers place of business.
- Load and unload vehicle unassisted or with assistance of helpers with or without forklifts.
- Lifts pulls pushes and carries goods and other freight of varying weights over long distance rough terrain or stairs.
- Ensure proper scanning of jobs and obtain signatures via the shipping proof of delivery app.
- Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
- Match certifications/travelers to the respective job and ensures accuracy between certifications/travelers and the respective job before scanning the job to the customer.
- Maintain basic shipping paperwork checking for accuracy and detail and making sure that the customer has signed the dated certifications and that all delivered jobs have respective paperwork.
- Assists receiving department in the transportation and storage of received material and customer product or containment.
- Operates pallet jacks and forklifts using a high degree of caution for self others and products.
- Drives safely and defensively obeying the rules of the road.
- Driver is exposed to moderate noise and vibration while driving the vehicle and will be required to travel safely in various outdoor weather conditions.
Required Skills:
- Ability to read write and speak the English language.
- Must be detail oriented and quick learner.
- Organization skills.
- Forklift training and certification.
- Excellent vision (whether or not corrected) including normal color vision.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Good communicator with ability to represent the company in a positive manner.
- Ability to work alone or as a member of a team good cooperative skills.
- Ability to drive 22 foot box truck
Required Experience:
- Preferred 1-3 years experience in route delivery required. Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record and working knowledge of any applicable DOT regulations and WA State traffic laws
- Must have box truck driving experience (22 feet long)
Level of Education:
- General Standard education including the ability to read and write in English.
Shift:
- Monday to Friday from 6am-2:30pm with the potential of longer hours depending on route completion
