Entry Level Software Engineer–Systems

The Boeing Company is looking for an Entry Level Software Engineer Systems to join the B-1B Software team located in Tinker AFB OK. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The B-1 Software Systems Team works with the United States Air Force (USAF) Customer to support a multitude of software lifecycle related activities using agile methodologies with focused software changes related to controls and displays weapons delivery navigation and communication systems.

Position Responsibilities:

• Gathers information to design develop analyze and maintain software systems that meet industry customer and internal quality safety security and certification standards

• Partners with appropriate stakeholders to inform system definition and participates in translation of system-level requirements into software requirements and models that meet customer operational and performance requirements and have clear traceability to design code and test artifacts

• Assists in completion of software system-level analyses to identify risk issues and opportunities; supports integration and deployment of mitigation actions throughout the software lifecycle

• Participates in code reviews to ensure alignment to requirements and standards

• Assists with monitoring and reviewing test completion verification processes and issue resolution for software systems

• Gathers information for development of user documentation and training to educate end users about usage of software products

• Aids with reviewing product and process for alignment with project plans and industry standards by participating in tracking and evaluation of internal team and supplier performance

• Assists with implementing current and emerging technologies tools frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development

• Contributes to performing software project management and software supplier management activities

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• Basic understanding of various software development methodologies

• Familiarity with supporting the creation or modification of software requirements.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering physics mathematics or computer science

• Experience with aircraft software development for defense systems

• Experience working in an Agile software development environment

• The ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (interim prestart final post start)

Summary pay range for Entry Level: $66300.00 - $89700.00.
