Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in planning preparing and carrying out developmentally appropriate program and activities. Program schedules include indoor/outdoor active/quiet and individual group activities.
- Ensures activities adhere to the BGC Okanagan Policies and Childcare Licensing Regulations.
- Monitor guide and assist children in daily activities.
- Attends to childrens physical needs which may include diapering toileting eating and sleeping.
- Model developmentally appropriate activities and positive behaviour management techniques. Conducts activities with children on an individual and group basis to promote the development of physical cognitive emotional and social skills.
- Keep program facilities and equipment safe and clean reporting any repairs and concerns to senior staff.
- Administers first aid and medication in accordance with established policy.
- Ensures a healthy and safe environment in which children can interact. Identifies and removes potential hazards.
- Maintains records reports problems or concerns to senior staff.
- Establish positive relationships and open communication with parents/guardians
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Assistant Certification
- Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Successful completion of Agency screening process including a criminal record check
Hours: 28 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m.
Rate of Pay:$21.22 per hour
