Job Description
The i-SMART Laboratory at Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the field of remote sensing with a particular emphasis on radar image analysis. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing innovative research initiatives related to environmental monitoring hydrology and data-driven modeling using cutting-edge remote sensing technologies.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment at the intersection of environmental science data analytics and engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct advanced research in radar image processing and remote sensing applications for environmental and hydrological studies.
Develop and implement machine learning and AI-based algorithms for large-scale satellite and radar data analysis.
Process visualize and interpret complex environmental datasets from various remote sensing platforms.
Collaborate with faculty graduate students and research partners across multiple disciplines.
Prepare research findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at academic conferences.
Contribute to proposal writing and the development of new research directions within the i-SMART Laboratory.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. (for Postdoctoral applicants) inRemote Sensing Environmental Engineering Civil Engineering Computer Science Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in radar image processing and remote sensing data analysis.
Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
Demonstrated record of academic publications in relevant fields.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) data and time-series analysis.
Familiarity with hydrological modeling or environmental monitoring applications.
Prior experience working in interdisciplinary research environments.

Compensation Range
In compliance with the New Jersey Wage Transparency Act the hourly base range for this position is $65000- $67500
. This range represents the Universitys good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Stevens Institute of Technology determines compensation based on factors including the positions scope and responsibilities the candidates experience education skills internal equity market data and organizational considerations. The final salary will be set considering departmental budget qualifications and relevant credentials. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes additional forms of compensation such as incentives stipends or other applicable pay components.
