Position Overview
Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School is seeking a faith-filled dedicated and compassionate Fifth Grade Teacher who is committed to living out the mission of our school. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented educator with a growth mindset a strong understanding of Catholic values and a sincere desire to help each student grow in faith knowledge and character.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a Christ-centered classroom environment where students are encouraged to live out their faith each day.
- Deliver engaging standards-based instruction that promotes academic excellence and a love of learning.
- Model and promote personal discipline respect kindness and responsibility in and out of the classroom.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues and administration to support school-wide initiatives and student success.
- Communicate effectively and positively with parents working together as partners in each childs education and faith formation.
- Integrate Catholic teachings and traditions into daily lessons and classroom activities.
- Participate actively in the schools spiritual life including prayer liturgies and service opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Education.
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for one).
- Catechist certification or willingness to obtain.
- Experience in an elementary classroom setting preferred.
- Strong communication collaboration and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and a faith-based approach to teaching.
- Kind trustworthy and reflective educator who strives for continual growth and improvement.
