Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Tax Accountant located in Charleston SC. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic public accounting team. This role is ideal for a tax professional with strong technical skills client service experience and a desire to grow within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for managing complex tax engagements supervising junior staff and ensuring compliance with federal state and local tax regulations
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax.
- Tax Compliance and Tax Preparation skills
- Experience in Tax and Financial Statements
- Accounting skills
- Knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- CPA license or working towards certification is a plus
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal state and local income tax returns for individuals corporations partnerships and trusts.
- Conduct tax research and provide technical support on complex tax issues.
- Assist in tax planning and strategy development for clients across various industries.
- Review workpapers and ensure accuracy and completeness of tax filings.
- Supervise mentor and train junior associates and interns.
- Communicate directly with clients to gather information resolve issues and provide updates.
- Stay current on tax law changes and proactively identify opportunities for clients.
- Support tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
