Technical Lead

As a Remote Technical Lead at SoSimple Interactive you will play a key role in guiding the technical direction of projects leading engineering efforts (both front-end and back-end) maintaining architecture standards mentoring engineers and ensuring that our products (website platform communication tools CMS features etc.) remain high quality scalable secure and maintainable. This is a remote position; you will collaborate with team members stakeholders and clients across communications channels while aligning with our design and product strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design development and implementation of web-based applications and features including enhancing our SaaS-platform products (CMS communications tools scheduling forms etc.).

Define and maintain system architecture and technical stack standards (front-end back-end APIs databases hosting security).

Collaborate with UI/UX designers product managers and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Ensure best practices around software development: code quality performance security tests documentation.

Conduct code reviews set up CI/CD and DevOps processes as needed and monitor production stability.

Mentor coach and guide other developers; help grow their skills and ensure good engineering practices.

Plan and estimate technical aspects of projects; help break down work into tasks identify dependencies risks and ensure timely delivery.

Participate in hiring and interviewing technical candidates.

Keep up with industry trends emerging technologies and propose improvements to tooling processes and tech stack.

Ensure our platform remains scalable maintainable and secure; work on performance optimization refactoring and technical debt when needed.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 5-8 years of professional software engineering experience including at least 1-2 years in a tech lead role or equivalent leadership of engineering efforts.

Strong expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies. Likely skills include modern JavaScript (React Vue or similar) HTML/CSS RESTful APIs server-side languages ( PHP Ruby or equivalent) databases (SQL or NoSQL) and hosting/deployment.

Familiarity with CMS platforms or custom CMS development; experience in communications tools scheduling registration systems integrations etc. is a plus.

Solid understanding of software architecture and design patterns (e.g. modular scalable secure architectures).

Experience with DevOps CI/CD pipelines version control systems (Git) testing (unit integration) code reviews.

Strong communication skills: able to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Leadership/mentoring capability: able to guide less experienced engineers provide feedback and nurture teamwork.

Remote work discipline: ability to manage own time meet deadlines and collaborate effectively across distributed environments.

Desired Attributes & Nice-to-Haves

Experience in platforms similar to ours: website CMS marketing automation email/text messaging systems scheduling/registration tools.

Experience with large-file sharing secure data handling portals/intranets.

Familiarity with analytics/reporting dashboards and/or building tools for tracking and measurement.

Prior experience in AEC or educational sector or with clients that have strict design and usability expectations.

Understanding of performance optimization SEO accessibility (WCAG) mobile responsiveness.

Cloud experience (AWS Azure Google Cloud) or experience in hosting and deployment infrastructure.

Reporting & Collaboration

Reports to: Engineering Manager or CTO (depending on company structure)

Collaborates with: Product Management UI/UX Design Marketing/Communications QA Support Clients

Provides leadership and guidance to: Software Engineers (Front-end/Back-end) possibly contractors or vendors

Fully remote work; flexibility in hours but some overlap with core hours for meetings and collaboration.

Occasional availability for client/stakeholder calls which might occur outside of traditional hours.
