Your role at St John of God Geraldton Hospital
SJG Geraldton Hospital are now seeking dedicated Enrolled and Registered Nurses to join our Granada Ward and Day Surgery Unit our Granada/DSU is a combined department. You will be working across two wards providing preoperative and postoperative care to surgical patient in a wide range of specialties including endoscopy dental ophthalmology urology minor orthopaedic and general surgery.
Shifts will vary between 6-10 hours. Depending on theatre lists you may be rostered in Granada or our DSU.
As a member of our friendly and approachable team you will be responsible for the provision of a high standard of patient care in a safe and effective manner. As an Enrolled Nurse you will be under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The Enrolled Nurse Position
Function within legal and registration constraints in relation to enrolled nursing practice.
Maintain and develops clinical skills in order to deliver patient care appropriate to level of competence.
Deliver a high standard of patient care utilizing appropriate resources cost effectively.
Adhere to and supports hospital policies procedures and standards.
Act as the patients advocate and protects the rights of individuals.
Provide patient education and participates in discharge planning where applicable or as required.
Participate in quality improvement activities.
Demonstrate a courteous manner to internal and external customers.
The Registered Nurse Position
Assesses plans delivers and evaluates patient care seeking support from senior staff as required.
Promotes and contributes to effective communication facilitating teamwork and cooperation within the department and within the hospital.
Provides patient education and acts as a resource where appropriate.
Supports and supervises staff and students as required including orientating and precepting staff.
Contributes to the achievement of Hospital and Clinical Services operational objectives.
You will hold registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse and demonstrate relevant clinical experience. You will demonstrate commitment to quality patient care and satisfaction along with well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
To succeed you will have an ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development. Previous experience working in a Day Surgery Ward will be highly regarded.
Availability to work 6-10 hour shift rosters Monday to Friday will be essential for the role.

We can offer you
Enrolled Nurse Salary: $72637 to $94932 (pro rata for part-time) plus 12% superannuation
Enrolled Nurse Casual Rate: $45.80 to $48.85 per hour (inclusive of casual loading) plus 12% superannuation
Registered Nurse Salary: $79755 to $102048 (pro rata for part-time) plus 12% superannuation
Registered Nurse Casual Rate: $50.29 to $64.35 per hour (inclusive of casual loading) plus 12% superannuation
Permanent part-time or casual positions available
