Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario (YWHO ) is a network of 32 Integrated Youth Services (IYS) hub networks that currently operate in 40 communities where young people ages 12 to 25 years have walk-in access to youth-centered community-based mental health and wellness services.

YWHO engages youth family members service providers and other partners through a co-creation process enhancing the relevance acceptability and youth friendliness of services. The hubs are provincially consistent in core features and locally led and adapted to offer and connect to a range of evidence-based servicesmental health care substance use health services primary care education employment housing peer support family support and care navigationin youth-friendly spaces. Outcomes are rigorously evaluated within and across hubs focusing on positive outcomes in areas of wellness important to youth and their families.

Position Description

Reporting to the Manager of Site Implementation and working closely with the Director of Clinical Practice and Implementation at YWHO the Integration and Implementation Lead will lead the development of consistent high quality knowledge evidence and resources to support capacity building decision-making program development and implementation relating to youth mental health and substance use and the YWHO model of care. The Lead will be responsible for leading the development and review of knowledge products and resources to support integrated knowledge exchange and the management and mobilization of knowledge amongst service providers knowledge users researchers policy makers community members and additional YWHO stakeholders. The Lead will oversee the development refinement evaluation and mobilization of curricula and training materials for YWHO Networks and partners across Ontario including onboarding coaching and supervision to the Knowledge Mobilization team within the YWHO PO in collaboration with YWHO Leadership team.

The Integration and Implementation Lead will lead a variety of activities including:

  • Gathering analyzing and synthesizing research evidence and other forms of knowledge to inform best practices for youth with substance use and/or mental health concerns practice innovations and capacity building initiatives.
  • Planning designing and developing curricula for trainings workshops and other knowledge exchange activities for YWHO staff partners and additional service providers across the province.
  • Creating and conducting needs assessments and environmental scans identify key competencies needed for the implementation of all YWHO core components define educational goals objectives and methodologies and determine training formats.
  • Determining and allocating work assignments of Knowledge Mobilization staff and providing direction support and coaching to team staff in collaboration with the Manager of Site Implementation Manager of Evaluation and other relevant members of the YWHO Leadership team.
  • Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key partners at the local provincial and national level and working closely with YWHO partners and other experts to guide this work.
  • Working in collaboration with the Manager of Site Implementation and the Manager of Evaluation to establish evaluation plans for knowledge exchange activities.
  • Participating in the development of the youth mental health field in Ontario and Canada though conference presentations and workshops.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external partners involved in child and youth mental health and substance use programming and knowledge exchange work.
  • Knowing and ensuring that all CAMH policies and the Code of Conduct are observed and applied by staff.

Other duties will apply. The Lead will have an understanding of the social determinants of health and the principles of health equity and how they apply in the context of evidence and knowledge exchange. The Lead will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements.

  • A Bachelors degree in health sciences health policy/administration public health social work knowledge translation or a related field from a recognized institution Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum seven (5) years experience working in the mental health and substance use system supporting large-scale implementation or knowledge mobilization initiatives (experience in other sectors will be accepted).
  • Demonstrated understanding of knowledge translation and exchange strategies and frameworks is required including the ability to lead the identification and development of knowledge exchange products such as options analyses briefing notes and other tools to support development and implementation of new practices/services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles experience in curriculum development and previous experience creating e-learning content and familiarity with LMSs such as Noverant is required.
  • The successful candidate will have the ability to develop and coordinate work plans knowledge exchange plans and communication plans to support knowledge mobilization components of large multi-year projects.
  • Previous experience with YWHO or other integrated models of service delivery for youth with addictions and/or mental health concerns preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships with community agencies and system partners.
  • An excellent collaborator; effective at building strong internal/external relationships networks and partnerships while managing partner expectations and risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with in collaboration with diverse partners and equity-deserving communities (such as First Nations Métis Inuit Black and other racialized communities 2SLGBTQ or those supporting youth with neurodevelopmental differences or living with a disability).
  • Ability to think strategically and link scale and spread of initiatives to measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and promote collaboration and change management and work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Effective facilitation persuasion and negotiation skills to achieve consensus resolve conflict and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication coaching and mentoring skills coupled with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language are assets.
