Job Summary
Job Description:
We are seeking a Powder Coating Specialist to join our client in Wilmington DE. Open to individuals with little experience but possess a strong desire to learn/grow within a dynamic environment within the lighting industry. As a Powder Coater your role will be instrumental in supporting our production and finishing processes. You will work closely with experienced team members to learn the ins and outs of powder coating and basic assembly tasks. Your responsibilities will include:
-Assisting with Surface Preparation: learn how to clean and prepare surfaces using manual methods chemical solvents steam or media blasting to ensure proper powder coating adhesion
-Supporting Powder Coating Processes: help operate and maintain powder coating equipment under supervision ensuring proper application and coverage
-Color Matching & Application: assist in mixing powder coating colors according to specifications and applying coatings using electrostatic spray guns or other equipment
-Quality Inspection: support visual inspections and basic testing to identify coating defects or inconsistencies ensuring all finished products meet quality standards
-Assembly & Packaging: learn to assemble lighting products and other items using hand and power tools. Assist with packaging final products securely for shipping including labeling and wrapping
-General Site Maintenance: help keep work area clean organized and safe. Adhere to safety protocols and OSHA requirements
Job Requirements:
- Experience: prior experience in powder coating or manufacturing a plus. A willingness to learn and a proactive attitude above all
-must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
-high school diploma or GED ; post-secondary trade/technical training a plus
-experience in metal finishing or a related assembly and production setting preferred
-ability to pass occupational medial evaluation and respirator fit testing as per OSHA requirements
-strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
-physical strength and stamina to stand walk and lift for extended periods including lifting up to 50 lbs.
-exposure to various environmental conditions including fumes airborne particles and moderate noise levels typical of a production facility
