Job Description

Academic Faculty Contract 171-day Benefits Eligible Tenure Track

Position Overview

Western Nevada College (WNC) is seeking a full-time Academic Faculty member (171-day contract tenure track) to serve as a Program Assessment and Data Specialist in the Department of Learning & Innovation. This non-teaching Academic Faculty position supports institutional effectiveness accreditation and faculty development by leading program reviews coordinating academic reporting and providing faculty with actionable program and course-level data.

The primary location for this role will be at the Carson City campus with travel required to satellite campuses and other locations as needed.

Job Duties

  • Lead and manage the program assessment and review process ensuring compliance with WNC NSHE and accreditation standards

  • Collect analyze and synthesize academic and administrative data for program assessment and decision-making

  • Provide faculty with program- and course-level data and deliver professional development on data interpretation and use

  • Coordinate institutional surveys and course evaluations reporting results and supporting faculty in applying findings

  • Support program proposals curriculum changes and academic reporting requirements including NSHE submissions

  • Collaborate on technology data and accreditation initiatives to strengthen program quality and institutional effectiveness

  • Contribute to special projects committees and professional development activities that advance continuous improvement across the college

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications


Education:

  • Masters degree from a regionally accredited equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered (i.e. BA4 yrs related professional experience). A minimum of a Bachelors degree is required

Experience:

  • Three years as teaching faculty in a higher education institution

  • Experience with program assessment institutional research curriculum development and/or related academic program support in a higher education setting

  • Experience collecting analyzing and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data to inform decision-making

  • Experience using SQL data cleaning analysis and visualization (such as PowerBI Excel and/or Tableau).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data warehouses mapping or integration

  • Familiarity with NSHE institutions or similar higher education systems

  • Experience providing training workshops or faculty support in data use and assessment

  • Knowledge of accreditation processes and reporting requirements.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings to a varied audience

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of program review processes higher education planning and accreditation standards

  • Strong analytical organizational and facilitation skills

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and meet deadlines

  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences

  • Commitment to collaborative work and faculty support

Minimum Starting Salary Information:

The salary grade is based on the selected candidates level of academic preparation: COMMUNITY COLLEGE ACADEMIC SALARY GRADES. The selected candidate will be placed at or above the minimum based on years of related professional experience. WNCs placement range falls within the NSHE salary schedule: ACADEMIC SALARY SCHEDULE-COMMUNITY COLLEGES.

All faculty and professional staff working at least half-time equivalent must participate in the NSHE Faculty Retirement Plan Alternative (RPA) as a condition of employment. The current contribution rate is 19.25%. Your contribution is matched by the College at 19.25%.

Your contributions are made by pre-tax salary reduction and you are 100% vested from your first day. You choose how to invest your own and NSHEs contributions. Faculty and staff who have previously participated in the Public Employees Retirement System of Nevada (PERS) may be required to continue participation in PERS.


The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) does not participate in the federal Social Security System but does contribute to the federal Medicare program. This means that while you are employed by NSHE neither you nor NSHE contribute to Social Security and you do not earn a Social Security benefit.
