Job Summary
The Opportunity
A leading secondary school in the Kettering area is seeking an innovative Science Teacher to begin in January 2026 (or sooner). This is a full-time permanent role covering Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5 depending on experience). Youll join a passionate and high-achieving faculty committed to raising standards and inspiring scientific thinking.
What Were Looking For
Were looking for someone who:
- Holds QTS PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Has strong subject knowledge across Biology Chemistry and/or Physics
- Can design and deliver engaging challenging lessons that develop scientific literacy
- Uses assessment and feedback effectively to drive student progress
- Is reflective collaborative and motivated to grow professionally
Experience with running labs coordinating practicals or leading STEM enrichment (clubs competitions outreach) would be a strong plus.

The Role in More Detail
You will deliver lessons across the sciences planning with differentiation to support all learners. Youll lead practical work model scientific thinking and prepare students for external assessment. Collaboration is embedded: the department shares schemes assessment materials and teaching strategies.
Beyond classroom teaching you may help develop and lead enrichment initiatives including science club school trips STEM challenges or links with external organisations to broaden student experience and raise the profile of science.
