Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing skilled nursing care in a busy Labor & Delivery and Postpartum unit. The role involves patient assessments medication administration treatment planning and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. The RN will need to quickly adapt to a fast-paced environment and support less experienced core staff.

Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum.
- Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC.
- Assist with patient education and discharge planning.
- Float between L&D and Postpartum units based on need.
- Assist patients in their routine activities of daily living.
- Collect patient data and specimens.
- Communicate patient status and reports changes in patient condition to licensed professional.
- Assist patient care team by performing and explaining designated patient care procedures.
- Answers unit phone and directs calls accordingly.
- Performs data entry into electronic medical database systems.
- Coordinates equipment/supply needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license.
- ACLS certification.
- AWHONN Intermediate certification.
- BCLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of L&D and Postpartum experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Not specified.
Special Considerations:
- Must be able to work every other weekend with potential for more frequent weekend shifts.
- No RTO is allowed during holidays. All RTO must be submitted at the time of application.
- Must be able to float between L&D and Postpartum units.
- The unit is very busy with a high volume of births requiring nurses to adapt quickly.
- Core staff is less experienced so the facility will rely on experienced travelers.
Scheduling:
- 3 or 4x12HR Day Shifts.
- Guaranteed hours: 36 or 48 hours.
- Start date: 12/1/2025
- Three days of orientation in the first week usually Monday Tuesday and Wednesday.
