Job Summary
Our client in the telecoms sector is seeking a Data Migration Strategist on a contract duration of 6 to 12 months.
We are looking for an experienced Data Migration Strategist with in-depth knowledge of Business Support Systems (BSS) to lead and manage complex data migration programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the data migration strategy planning and overseeing data movement from legacy BSS systems to new platforms ensuring data quality integrity compliance and minimal disruption to business operations.
This is a key leadership role in large-scale transformation programs (e.g. BSS consolidation system modernization or digital transformation).

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the data migration strategy planning and overseeing data movement from legacy BSS systems to new platforms ensuring data quality integrity compliance and minimal disruption to business operations.
This is a key leadership role in large-scale transformation programs (e.g. BSS consolidation system modernization or digital transformation).
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8 years of experience in data migration roles with at least 35 years in a strategic or leadership capacity.
- Proven track record of leading end-to-end data migrations involving BSS platforms (e.g. Amdocs Netcracker Ericsson CSG).
- Deep understanding of BSS data domains: customer billing usage mediation charging CRM and order management.
- Strong experience with ETL tools (e.g. Informatica Talend SSIS Ab Initio) and data migration frameworks.
- Solid understanding of data quality data cleansing master data management and reconciliation best practices.
- Familiarity with data modeling database technologies (Oracle SQL Server NoSQL) and scripting (SQL Python preferred).
- Strong project management stakeholder engagement and risk management capabilities.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage third-party vendors or system integrators.
- Experience in telecoms or digital service provider environments.
- Familiarity with TM Forum standards (SID eTOM) and data migration methodologies (e.g. BSS/OSS Transformation).
- Experience with cloud-based migration (e.g. migrating on-premise BSS to cloud-native platforms).
- Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR CCPA) in the context of data migration.
- Certification in project management (e.g. PMP PRINCE2) or cloud platforms (Azure AWS GCP).
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Systems Data Engineering or a related field.
