5 STAR Event Services is hiring personable and professional individuals to join our team as Ushers and Ticket Takers at the Houston Symphony in Jones Hall! This is a great opportunity to earn steady income while working unforgettable events and you control your schedule!

Responsibilities May Include:
Scanning tickets at entry points
Greeting and directing guests to seating and services
Monitoring access points to ensure only authorized entry
Enforcing venue policies and CDC safety guidelines
Performing bag checks and screening procedures
Reporting suspicious behavior or safety concerns
Assisting with emergency evacuations if necessary
Providing security escorts as needed

Qualifications
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must also possess the following qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 18 years of age
- Reliable forms of communication and transportation
- Texas Non-Commissioned Guard Card Preferred (Training & Exam provided. All applicants are to pass exam submit to fingerprinting and criminal background check.)
Skills and Abilities:
- A strong customer-service attitude and professional appearance
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to understand and interpret credentials documents signs rules policies and instructions
- The ability to communicate effectively with clients patrons and other employees
- The ability to multi-task cross-train and learn new skills quickly
- The ability to remain calm and level-headed under high-pressure situations
Physical Requirements:
- Full physical and mental dexterity with the ability to walk stoop kneel crouch hear see and speak English clearly
- The ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time (shift duration)
- The ability to lift 25lbs.
Work Environment:
- Elevated noise levels. Live events can be very loud and employees must be prepared to be exposed to increased noise levels. Ear plugs are available upon request.
- An energetic and fast-paced environment
- Crowds (as in LOTS of people!)
- Working outdoor venues. Some of the symphone concerts take place outside or in open-air venues and take place rain or shine. Reasonable accommodations are made to assist with employee comfort when necessary (tents rain ponchos drinking water etc.)
- Evening and weekend work schedules. Many events take place in the evenings and on the weekends. Flexible availability is required.
