Reporting to the Director Admissions and Recruitment the Admissions and Recruitment Specialist International plays a key role in achieving MRUs international enrolment goals. The Specialist develops and manages international recruitment marketsboth within Canada and abroadand provides advising and support to international prospective students throughout the admission process.
This position requires strong relationship-building skills cultural sensitivity and independence in managing complex travel schedules and communications. The incumbent represents MRU with professionalism at international education fairs high schools and other recruitment events promoting the value of an MRU education to students parents and partners.
This position is a full-time Replacement Term role working 35 hours per week ending October 30 2026 with the possibility of extension.
Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified international students.
Represent MRU at education fairs school visits and other recruitment events domestically and abroad.
Advise international prospective students and applicants on admission requirements English Language Proficiency and program selection.
Collaborate with International Admission Officers and campus partners to ensure accurate and timely information is shared with applicants.
Build and maintain relationships with international schools government agencies and authorized representatives.
Contribute to recruitment materials presentations and event planning including Open House and Counsellor Updates.
Prepare and manage travel arrangements expense reporting and documentation for recruitment activities.
Bachelors degree in a relevant field (education business communications or international relations).
35 years of related experience in student recruitment international education or client services.
Demonstrated experience working with diverse and international populations.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Valid Canadian passportClass 5 drivers license required and access to vehicle.
Experience with Banner CRM systems or other student information systems considered an asset.
Knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
