Job Summary

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will provide intermediate to senior-level support to the Inspection Department by writing programs for legacy part numbers that allow those parts to be inspected on the new Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) WENZEL machine using VERISURF software.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Analyzes dimensional data against part models to determine part conformity.
Utilizes customer specifications drawings PC-DMIS and VERISURF software or equipment.
Prepares CMM programs for inspection of product utilizing drawings parts lists CAD models etc.
Validates programs for accuracy and completion for legacy parts and new products.
Develops LEAN inspection procedures to maximize efficiency.
Interprets drawings and specifications to determine conformance to all requirements.
May write inspection procedures for work instructions.

Basic Qualifications:

Excellent knowledge of blueprints GD&T datums tooling parts etc. Good legible handwriting.
Ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and Blueprint Reading.
Program CMM using VERISURF.
Ability to complete inspections to verify programs inspect parts within required tolerances
Ability to analyze and interpret data
Effective problem-solving skills
Strong communications skills both verbal and written to convey ideas and processes Strong customer service and collaboration skills.
Drive determination and a self-disciplined approach to achieve results
Sense of urgency and comfort working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of simultaneous projects
Ability to complete work assignments accurately and quickly

Experience & Education

High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Experience writing programs with VERISURF software on a BRIDGEPORT is required
3-5 years of experience operating and programming CMMs is required
PC-DMIS programming experience preferred
