Job Summary

Education- Qualifications Accreditation Training:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience preferably in chemical combustion energy systems or related industries (e.g. power generation thermal systems boilers burners turbines).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in West Virginia preferred or ability to obtain shortly after hire.

Anticipated Contract Awards/Expressions of Interest:

Worley is seeking expressions of interest from qualified professionals for roles that are contingent on the award of upcoming contracts. While these positions are not immediately available your application will be reviewed and kept on file for future consideration.

Purpose:
As a Mechanical Engineer II at Worley youll deliver high-quality engineering services to support both our clients and project teams ensuring technical excellence compliance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver mechanical engineering services for engineered projects that meet Worley client and regulatory requirementson time and within budget.
  • Perform mechanical analysis of equipment pressure systems steel and related infrastructure.
  • Prepare design calculations in line with engineering principles industry standards and applicable codes (ASME ACI AISC ASCE IBC).
  • Develop technical documentation including construction specifications bills of materials and quantity take-offs for engineered systems.
  • Create design sketches and CAD drawings to support system layouts and equipment integration.
  • Direct and mentor designers/drafters in the development of construction drawings for facilities and engineered projects.
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies industry standards and technical innovations in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers within the mechanical engineering team.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams stakeholders and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Follow Worleys document preparation and quality-checking procedures.
  • Identify technical issues propose solutions and escalate challenges when necessary.

Technical/Industry Experience

  • Strong practical engineering skills with proven ability to deliver accurate high-quality and timely work.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel Access).
  • Familiarity with codes and standards relevant to combustion and energy systems (ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code NFPA API ACI AISC ASCE IBC).
  • Working knowledge of related engineering disciplines (electrical controls civil/structural) in the context of engineered projects.
  • Effective written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated organized and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
