Position Overview:

As a Buyer Direct Materials at Ball you will be responsible for ensuring that goods and services are procured as necessary to ensure supply for the plant and will also be heavily involved in PO lifecycle management activities such as PO conversion PO troubleshooting reporting for expiring or aged POs PO administration clean up and close out.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Providing buying support for Category Management teams and local production plants to secure timely supply of goods and services
• Reviewing incoming purchase requisitions to ensure documentation specifications and attachments are complete
• Creating managing and closing purchase orders in ERP systems ensuring accuracy and compliance with approval processes
• Leads the category management lifecycle process for select categories
• Monitoring supply demand and market conditions to make informed procurement decisions
• Serving as a key resource and subject matter expert for buying processes supporting plant stakeholders
• Supporting Category Managers with spend analytics requirements gathering and execution of best-in-class procurement processes
• Managing supplier relationships including performance reviews issue resolution (price quality delivery) and negotiation planning
• Identifying and presenting opportunities for process improvement in procurement
• Supporting procurement activities for plant start-ups to ensure smooth operations from day one

What are we looking for

• Bachelors degree
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in buying procurement or a similar role (experience in high-speed manufacturing environments is an advantage).
• Strong skills in negotiation procurement processes and supplier management.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint).
• Solid analytical and financial skills with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
• Fluency in English (other languages are an advantage).
