Role Description
We are seeking an accomplished Principal Signalling Engineer to join our growing Rail Scotland team. This is a unique opportunity to step into a senior leadership role within a world-class consultancy shaping the future of rail infrastructure across the UK and beyond. You will lead high-performing multi-disciplinary teams drive technical excellence and cultivate strategic relationships with clients and industry partners. At Arcadis you will play a pivotal part in delivering innovative sustainable and digitally enabled signalling solutions that improve mobility and connect communities.
Role Accountabilities
- Lead the technical direction and delivery of complex rail signalling projects ensuring excellence in safety quality and innovation.
- Drive client engagement and business development establishing Arcadis as a trusted partner across the rail industry.
- Mentor develop and inspire multi-disciplinary teams fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with global Arcadis experts integrating best practices and digital solutions into local project delivery.
- Oversee project governance risk management and commercial performance ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Represent Arcadis at industry forums contributing thought leadership to our clients and the wider industry.
Qualifications & Experience
- Significant experience leading complex rail signalling design and delivery projects ideally as Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) or equivalent.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK rail industry standards governance and client expectations.
- IRSE Signalling Principles Licence (1.1.550) and IRSE Signalling Verifiers Licence (1.1.160) essential.
- Preferably Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline; Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent.
- Track record in managing and developing technical teams with a collaborative and empowering leadership style.
- Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
- Commitment to promoting sustainability inclusion and digital innovation within project delivery.
