The Opportunity

We are seeking a Clinical Midwifery Consultant to join our Women and Families Unit at St Andrews Ipswich Private Hospital. As the Clinical Midwifery Consultant you will have the opportunity to be active in a leadership role including the development and provision of evidence-based clinical nursing and midwifery while working and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The opportunity also allows you to act as a clinical expert professional role model and change agent to promote practice development and quality initiatives that promote the delivery of safe efficient and high-quality customer service.

Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role you will bring a strong clinical skillset with the drive to succeed in a ward-based clinical leadership and mentor role. Your passion for patient care and a high standard of customer-focused service will be matched by your ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

You will have exceptional clinical nursing skills customer service strong communication and interpersonal skills and also meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Registered Midwife with senior leadership experience
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area
  • Demonstrated experience in providing education to the team
  • Ability to assess plan co-ordinate and evaluate care delivery needs of patients
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements in relation to nursing practice
  • Knowledge and experience in Quality/Continuous Improvement processes
