POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Financial Planning Associate is a hybrid position with both in-office and work from home time each week. This role supports financial planning processes and focuses on proactive client relationship management. You will work directly with senior financial advisors clients and prospective clients. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Financial Planning and works closely with all departments within the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the position include a cross-section of Financial Planning and Investment Managment including but not limited to:
- Prospective Client Support
- Participate in prospective client meetings
- Gather data from prospective clients
- Assist with sign-on and onboarding of new clients
- Sit in large meetings to assiste with note-taking when needed
- Current Client Support
- Prepare analysis for clients including but not limited to:
- retirement cash flow projections
- Social Security income analysis
- pension plan analysis
- education planning
- Gather datafromestablishedclientsto support analysis and planning needs
- Collaborate with supporting departments to ensure client needs are met around estate planning tax planning insurance and annuity needs etc.
- Administrative Support
- Answer clientand prospectquestions and forward complex questions toappropriate partieswithinthe firms established response time requirement.
- Prepare materials for prospective and current client meetings.
- Draft documents and correspondence for financial advisors.
- Take notes during prospective and current client meetings.
- Ensure all follow-up tasks and communications after client meetings are completedin a timely manner.
- Ensureaccurateandtimelytask managementwithin the CRM system.
- Fullyutilizeand keep up-to-date records and tasks for clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelors Degree is required for this role ideally in Finance or other similar field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a financial planning/investment management role or undergraduate study and internship experience from a financial planning degree program.
- Fully Licensed preferred: VA L&H SIE Series 7 & Series 66 or required within 3 months of hire.
- Proficient in MS Excel PowerPoint Word and Outlook
- Experience with the following software programs a plus:
- Tamarac
- Microsoft CRM
- Morningstar Prinicpal and/or Morningstar Direct
SUCCESS FACTORS
- Detail oriented
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels staff up to and including C-suite leadership
- Sales skills a plus
- Strong analytical background that includes analysis of complex client situations
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication prospects clients and Cassaday staff
