The Materials Engineer analyzes researches designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to optimize materials for use in engineering design and/or application in structures systems and subsystems.

The candidate would perform material analyses that include but are not limited to analysis of components parts and materials decompositions systems and subsystems analyses data management life predictions requirement / specifications definition. Would apply principles of chemistry physics mechanics and materials behavior to develop metallic non-metallic composite material and processing specifications establishing standards supporting several teams across the globe.

This position will be at our Aguadilla PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

This role is categorized as hybrid with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What YOU will do:

• Assemble specification de-composition and part decomposition.
• Assure compliance with several CAS# parts in different Global Regulations like REACH TSCA Etc.
• Provide 2-way feedback on technical issues to Rockford IL Windsor Locks CT and GETCs like Poland Engineering and PR Operations and Development programs.
• Support process improvement and maintain continues communication with his/her Sr Engineer.
• Perform Materials of Concern (MOC) Analysis.
• Data Management and integration.
• Some data analytics and tool development would be necessary.

Qualifications you must have:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelors or advanced degree in an applicable discipline
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Preferred if it is a Candidate looking to get a Degree in Mechanical and/or Chemical and/or Materials Engineering.
• Experience working Manufacturing process materials regulations is a plus.
• Experience in Siemens NX Visio Solidworks is a plus.
• Experience interacting with Mechanical/Electrical Computer Aided Design Resources (MCAD and ECAD) is a value.
• Experience working with Teamcenter and/or SAP is a plus.
• Knowledge and Experience working Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• We value the knowledge in different analysis like fungus fluids structures etc.
• Programming knowledge on Python or MATLAB Power Automate Power BI is a big value
• Knowledge in metals structures polymers and composites and environmental regulations is a big value.
