Job Description:

We are seeking aSenior Associate Process Engineer (2nd Shift)with a focus in Welding to join our Manufacturing team inCanoga Park CA.

At ourCanoga Park CA(Los Angeles area) facility we design & manufacture rocket engines and unique power systems that support space exploration & the defense of our nation such as NASAs SLS Lockheed Martins THAAD Sierra Nevadas Dream Chaser and the Mars Perseverance Rover. This site is our center of excellence for liquid in-space propulsion responsible for engine design fabrication assembly and test.

Essential Functions:

• Troubleshoot critical weldments ensuring best practices for weld fit-up cleanliness requirements and weld parameters are followed
• Document best practices to support production
• Assist with root cause analysis and disposition discrepant hardware
• Accurately report problems solutions and results
• Communicate effectively between team members and customer counterparts

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  
  

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Practical knowledge of welding and general fabrication.
• Previous experience E.B welding manual In-Place-Tube and/or Automatic GTAW
• Experience working with Torch Weld Jigs (TWJ) setting weldments up for exact shrinkages to fit TWJ post weld
• Experience with weld specifications
• Working with D17.1 or Journeyman Weld certifications
• Moving large structures or hardware

In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in California Massachusetts New Jersey Washington and the Greater D.C Denver or NYC areas is $72000 - $133000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state Hawaii Illinois Maryland Minnesota New York state and Vermont is $62000 - $115000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
