Job Description

Business Profile:

PCC Aerostructures is a leading supplier of complex components and assemblies to the global aerospace industry.

PCC Aerostructures now includes more than 35 plants in the U.S Europe and Asia with over 5500 employees and has ambitious growth plans. Plants locations include Washington Utah California Oklahoma Kansas Texas Ohio Canada Mexico the UK and China.

Location Profile:

Progressive was founded and incorporated in 1971 in Arlington Texas. Heroux-Devtek Inc. purchased Progressive in 2004 who helped to expand the site which has doubled its manufacturing footprint and more than doubled sales and employee August 2012 Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) acquired January 2022 Progressive merged with ADI Aerospace Dynamics Inc. and now ADI Progressive is one of the largest footprints within the Aerostructures Division of PCC.

Predominantly a provider for large highly complex machined parts kits and assemblies for OEMs and large Tier One providers for both military and commercial market segments. Progressive is a 140000 square foot facility.

Position Summary:

This position acts in a supporting role related to Quality Assurance compliance responsibilities such as: internal audits corrective action documentation initiation tracking and customer visibility defect data collection trending charting and analysis.

Reporting Relationships:

The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Manager.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of and familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management Systems requirements (preferably Rev D)
  • Ensure that all defective parts and their associated defects are documented in accordance with established systems and procedures.
  • Generation of internal and external customer non-conformance documentation.
  • Prepare and determine root cause and corrective action analysis.
  • Defect data collection trending charting and analysis.
  • Perform internal audits in compliance with established procedures and AS9100 requirements.
  • Lead the development of PFMEAs and Control Plans.
  • Interface with customer Quality Assurance program representatives regarding defect documentation and corrective action issues.
  • Assist in the identification of the need for and generation of rework/repair planning.
  • Assist in coordinating post-disposition repair activities related to customer disposition of submitted non-conformances.
  • Assist with the Review and approval of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) as required. Ensure FAI adequacy completeness and compliance to AS9102.
  • Actively support and interact with other members of the management team including Manufacturing Operations Quality Assurance Supply Chain Program Management and N/C Programming.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience/ Education :

  • 1-2 Years of Manufacturing Experience preferred
  • 2 years in the aerospace or automotive industry preferred
  • BS in Industrial Manufacturing Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred.

  • Ability to interact professionally with customers suppliers and fellow team members.
  • Be willing to research evaluate and train new process methods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook and Power Point);
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication collaboration and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates prioritization and planning skills.

Physical Demands & Working Condition:

  • May be required to move items up to 35 pounds.
  • Daily duties may require sitting standing bending squatting reaching pushing pulling operating and manipulating hand tools.
  • Daily duties may require extended duration of walking.
  • Exposed to a Manufacturing setting with heavy machinery.
