Overview
The Global Science Platforms Team is seeking an Associate Scientist to support the Natural Sweetener Research program. Primary job duties include working with external and internal stakeholders to design and execute experiments. The position interfaces with product process packaging quality food safety and other Global Science Platform teams delivering input for robust experimental design and ensuring timely results and insights.
The candidate will be required to
Work independently to design and carry out hypothesis-based experiments to enable product innovation
Collaborate with cross-functional partners both internal to PEP and external including academic institutions and vendors to develop critical business solutions
Stay up-to-date on the emerging science identify research opportunities relevant external technologies and potential partnerships
Utilize electronic lab platforms to collect and document all data and reports using digitized tools and formats
Prepare and present complex technical information and outcomes to wide audiences including technical and non-technical people senior leaders
Qualifications:
A Ph. D in food science chemistry physiochemistry or biochemistry or related field. Masters in the related areas with 5 years industry experience will also be addition the candidate should have:
Critical thinking skills
Ability to see the big picture
Good team player
Good hands-on skills and ability to learn new technology and instrumentation
Ability to leverage technology from other applications/industries
Manage multiple projects/tasks/priorities independently
Flexible and be able to prioritize to meet goals and needs of the team and business
Strong communication skills
