A Day in the Life

As an Engagement Manager in the Diabetes Transformation Office you have the opportunity to champion transformation set the tone for a collaborative culture that enables continuous and sustained improvement and lead initiatives that will unleash the full potential of the business. Your ultimate objective is to enhance the productivity of Diabetes products services and processes while optimizing overall business performance. We seek leaders who have a clear vision of where we are going and how to get therebold inclusive thinkers who create innovative ideas and bring our best solutions aligned with our transformation goals changing the way we get work done in service of our customers. The problems this role will tackle are complex and undefined requiring consideration of a wide range of strategic inputs and variables that impact multiple areas of the organization. The Engagement Manager must have the ability to oversee and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced matrix environment leveraging leadership and strong interpersonal skills.

This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronics Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned

  • Program Planning and Execution: Lead the planning execution and delivery of complex cross-functional transformation programs adhering to established program management methodologies (e.g. Agile Waterfall). Develop detailed project plans timelines resource allocations and budgets.

  • Stakeholder Management: Effectively manage stakeholders at all levels of the organization including senior leadership functional managers and project team members. Ensure clear communication alignment on objectives and proactive management of expectations.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration and coordination across various functional teams (e.g. commercial marketing R&D operations IT) to ensure seamless execution of transformation initiatives. Build strong working relationships and foster a collaborative team environment.

  • Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify assess and manage risks and issues that could impact program delivery. Develop mitigation strategies and escalate critical issues to appropriate stakeholders.

  • Change Management: Support change management activities to ensure smooth transitions and adoption of new processes technologies and ways of working. Collaborate with change management resources to develop and implement effective change management plans.

  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track program progress and measure the impact of transformation initiatives. Regularly report on program status risks issues and achievements to senior leadership and stakeholders.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within various functions. Apply process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean Six Sigma) to drive efficiency gains and enhance operational effectiveness.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree

  • 7 years of experience in strategic planning operations management process improvement and/or transformational leadership

  • OR an advanced degree with 5 years of experience

Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Knowledge of medical device industry practices techniques and standards

  • Previous work experience from management consulting firm

  • Familiarity with business development marketing and product planning / new product development

  • Works and champions ideas at the regional and global level

  • Strategic thinking and influence Play a leadership role in strategic thinking and formulate impactful strategies that will drive market penetration and share. This position relies on a high degree of influence management skills with product marketing global marketing organization managed markets field sales management and other global constituents

  • Analytical prowess/ problem-solving ability Ability to analyze data from multiple sources integrate this information and formulate impactful strategic and tactical plans to drive the business

  • Adaptive/responsive Adapt and respond quickly to changing and new information. Takes the initiative with a can-do attitude driving results in complicated environments and effectively operating and delivering with minimal direction

  • Communication skills Demonstrate an ability to disseminate information in a concise and clear way. Proven ability to work effectively across a global matrix organization including scoping and leading projects with cross-business unit teams

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$139200.00 - $208800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience certification/education market conditions and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
