Position Summary

UHN Data & Analytics supports UHNs growing demand for data and data-driven insights and helps TeamUHN ensure the needs of the patients come first.  Our collective goal is to enable UHN in transformative measurable and data-informed healthcare improvement.

Within UHN Data & Analytics the Data Strategy Governance & Analytics Team seeks to improve UHNs understanding of its data as a competitive differentiator and enable UHN to become a data-driven and insight-enabled learning health system that effectively manages and drives value from its data assets.

The Team is also responsible for establishing organizational data governance advancing data literacy and enabling UHN to develop advanced analytical capabilities that inform and support its strategic pursuits in care discovery and learning.

The Business Process & Data Analyst plays a critical role in implementing strategic initiatives and sustaining operational processes that unlock the value of UHNs data assets. 

Duties

  • Coordinate ongoing data governance oversight approval and consultation processes and committees
  • Research and incorporate trends best practices and literature into impactful and innovative solutions
  • Determine business insights through the collection assessment and analysis of complex organizational data
  • Plan and conduct requirements gathering workflow/data mapping and application testing
  • Support project scoping scheduling monitoring risk assessment and stakeholder engagement
  •  Proactively recommend continuous improvement opportunities on projects and the team
  • Produce high quality documentation and deliverables
  • Understand and align with organizational strategy and guidance
  • Learn new tools and techniques relevant to project and operational tasks including project management change management business analysis data analysis data governance and data literacy
  • Lead projects of low risk and small scope

Qualifications :

  • An Undergraduate Degree in Health Informatics Industrial Engineering Business or a related field
  • 1-2 years of related industry experience in project or operational management
  • Excellent facilitation inter-personal and written/oral communications skills
  • Excellent analytical prioritization and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently on multiple ongoing priorities successfully in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook Visio Project PowerPoint Word Excel and SharePoint)
  • Experience with PowerBI and other data visualization and analytics tools considered an asset
