Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Wage range: $31.68 - $34.01 per hour (Start rate is non negotiable) 
Shift: Rotating 24 hour shifts
Status: Permanent Full Time

Position Summary
The Shift Building Operator is an integral part of the Plant Operations and Maintenance department andmaintainsresponsibility for inspecting the facility/mechanical room. 

Duties 

  • Performing preventative maintenance to ensure the continuous operation of equipment/machinery 
  • Diagnosing problems with equipment/machinery
  • Providingfeedback to ensure new construction and/or modification will notimpactexisting systems 
  • Repairing equipment/machinery
  • Contributing to the efficient operation of the department

Qualifications :

  • At minimum completion of high school or recognized equivalent
  • MillwrightIndustrial Mechanic Certification an asset
  • Certificate or Diploma in Building Operations and/or completion of a relevant Ministry approved apprenticeship program or recognized equivalent (if licensed trade possession of the Provincial Certificate of Qualifications)
  • Minimum of 2 years practical and related experience
  • Computer literate to operate automated systems
  • Effective organizational interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Exercises initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
  • Knowledge of applicable legislative UHN and/or departmental policies
  • Previous related experience in a health care setting an asset
