Position Summary
The Shift Building Operator is an integral part of the Plant Operations and Maintenance department andmaintainsresponsibility for inspecting the facility/mechanical room.
Duties
- Performing preventative maintenance to ensure the continuous operation of equipment/machinery
- Diagnosing problems with equipment/machinery
- Providingfeedback to ensure new construction and/or modification will notimpactexisting systems
- Repairing equipment/machinery
- Contributing to the efficient operation of the department
Qualifications :
- At minimum completion of high school or recognized equivalent
- MillwrightIndustrial Mechanic Certification an asset
- Certificate or Diploma in Building Operations and/or completion of a relevant Ministry approved apprenticeship program or recognized equivalent (if licensed trade possession of the Provincial Certificate of Qualifications)
- Minimum of 2 years practical and related experience
- Computer literate to operate automated systems
- Effective organizational interpersonal and communication skills
- Exercises initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
- Knowledge of applicable legislative UHN and/or departmental policies
- Previous related experience in a health care setting an asset
