You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are seeking a driven and experienced professional to lead a dynamic technical underwriting sub-team of 5 to 8 colleagues. This role reports to the Head of New Business and Underwriting and is instrumental in driving high quality services and excellence across Underwriting operations.
Position Responsibilities:
Underwrite large amount and complex applications and review suggest cases within agreed turnaround time and ensure underwriting decisions complied with companys rules and guidelines
Work collaboratively with distribution channels including agencies banks and brokers by delivering training handling complex cases and appeals and serving as an expert resource for risk assessment of medical and critical illness products
Provide training to underwriters to enhance risk assessment quality and services towards best practices
Develop competitive and risk-based underwriting guidelines requirements procedures and practices
Keep abreast of regulatory changes that impact underwriting and ensure underwriting practices comply with regulatory requirements and internal standards and procedures
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support other duties as assigned including but not limited to participation in health transformation projects products development initiatives focus on processes/procedures/practices enhancements etc.
Leverage the data analytics knowledge and background to enable continuous improvement of the underwriting TAT
Undertake other roles and tasks that may arise to support Underwriting management
Required Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent qualifications with minimum 15 years of experience in new business function and case management
Excellent knowledge in risk assessment product design and market practices
Excellent analytical critical thinking and presentation abilities
Excellent team player with high level of ownership and accountability
Thrive in a fast paced environment and can efficiently prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities
Proficiency in Cantonese written and spoken English. Mandarin would be a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word Excel PowerPoint)
