We are now seeking a Project Portfolio Manager to lead our European Defense Fund (EDF) projects within Business Unit Submarines.

As the Project Portfolio Manager for EDF projects within the Submarines Business Unit your role will involve managing the interdependencies between various EDF projects and activities to align them with the portfolios strategic goals. You will oversee the planning execution and tracking of multiple interconnected projects define the portfolios scope and objectives develop budgets manage risks coordinate cross-project activities communicate with stakeholders and allocate resources to ensure the portfolios success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define project portfolio objectives and ensure they align with the organizations strategic goals.
- Implement governance structures to oversee project portfolio activities and decision-making.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project portfolio plans including timelines budgets and resource allocations.
- Identify relevant calls in accordance with business strategy
- Oversee grant application implementation
- Support compilation of consortium agreement and grant agreement
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams to ensure project portfolio objectives are met
- Monitor project and project portfolio progress and performance identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
- Ensure compliance with Saabs quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide regular updates and reports on project portfolio status.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and address any concerns or feedback.
- Facilitate meetings and workshops to ensure all stakeholders are engaged and informed.
- Monitor spending and track financial performance against the budget.
- Prepare and present regular reports on project portfolio progress performance and outcomes.
Your profile
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Project Portfolio Manager with a strong background in project management excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple international stakeholders.
You will report to the Head of Project Management Business Unit Submarines. The position requires international business travel approximately 30 days per year.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree or higher in Engineering Business or a related field.
- IPMA Level certification (or equivalent) is an asset.
- Proven experience in project management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to navigate within a complex organization.
- Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English both verbal and written. Additional languages are an asset.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful outcomes in complex situations.
- Experience from international research projects and the processes involved is preferable
- Knowledge of defense and security industry standards and regulations are an asset
- Proficient in the use of the MS Office suite.
