Wood Mackenzies Power and Renewables research team provides integrated subscription research and advisory services to inform and support our clients commercial and strategic decisions in the complex and rapidly changing supply chain landscape.
Combining our deep knowledge of solar wind storage conventional power and grid technologies with our global power and fuels modelling and analytical capabilities Wood Mackenzie can provide data and insight spanning supply chain technology costs policy and market issues fundamentals-based outlooks price forecasting asset valuation and commodity market issues among many other insights.
Role Purpose
The role will be responsible for delivering Wood Mackenzies research and analysis on the energy storage supply chain and technology. This role will lead the development and operation of energy storage supply chain models and associated processes databases and reports of the growing Lens Storage product. Areas of coverage may include cell manufacturer inverter and integrator landscapes emerging technologies and cost modelling for storage technologies.
Work with the other global energy storage team members ensuring successful collaboration and a customer-first approach to everything the teams prioritise. Play a leading part in the evolution of WoodMacs coverage responding to changing customer needs and a dynamic industry.
Main responsibilities
Lead datasets and model maintenance content generation and product roadmap development across the energy storage supply chain and technology.
Leadership role within the energy storage supply chain and technology and more broadly the global energy storage team; coaching and mentoring others in the team ensuring a growth mindset and setting the right example for the group.
Develop the original market research and analysis with a culmination in client deliverables and industry thought leadership pieces.

Drive integration with wider Wood Mackenzie teams to ensure a single source of truth as it relates to Wood Mackenzies energy transition views.

Establish maintain and develop further senior customer relationships ensuring WoodMac is the go-to company for the energy storage supply chain and technology analysis. This would be through a combination of calls client visits and conference participation.
Collaborate with peers across Wood Mackenzie to support cross-technology research reports consulting projects marketing services and editorial coverage.
Knowledge skills and experience
5 years of energy industry work and/or graduate experience with 3 years of experience in some aspect of battery energy storage systems technology and supply chain
Understanding of related areas to energy storage technologies and supply chain including but not limited to energy storage supply chain trends technology development across long and short duration systems pricing and technology cost modelling trade policies and supply chain company strategies.
Passionate about renewable energy with a strong knowledge of the sector and markets.
Strong analytical capabilities both qualitative and quantitative. Fluent with Excel and PowerPoint. Coding and programming experience (Python R etc.) is a plus.
Strong networking skills and the ability to develop relationships with key industry stakeholders.
Intellectually curious and can think critically about the effect of a wider business landscape.
Ability to work independently and effectively within a global team.
Strong organisational skills and an eye towards collaboration.
Fluency with reading writing and communicating in English.
