About the Role
Were looking for a Founding Machine Learning Engineer to build and scale the real-time voice model infrastructure that powers emotionally intelligent AI voice systems.
In this role youll design ultra-low-latency inference pipelines optimize performance at scale and develop expressive voice models that respond naturally and adaptively to human conversation.
Youll work directly with the founding team to shape product direction architecture and the technical foundation of a next-generation conversational AI platformpowering experiences across therapy coaching companionship and gaming.
What Youll Do
- Architect and scale real-time model inference systems for high-fidelity voice experiences.
- Fine-tune and optimize transformer-based speech and emotion models for low latency.
- Design efficient data pipelines and infrastructure for training and deployment.
- Collaborate with founders on product direction user feedback loops and R&D strategy.
- Drive research into emotional expression multimodal context and memory for long-term interactions.
What You Bring
- Strong background in deep learning and speech synthesis (e.g. PyTorch CUDA).
- Experience building or optimizing real-time inference systems.
- Familiarity with fine-tuning transformer or diffusion-based voice models.
- Experience with data engineering GPU acceleration and model optimization.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced hands-on startup environment with high ownership.
Work Setup
Location: On-site in San Francisco (flexible time off 60-hour weeks typical)
Compensation: $175K $250K 12% equity
Visa: Sponsorship available for candidates already based in the U.S.
