POSITION OVERVIEW
The Facilities CAD Coordinator will perform a wide range of project activities including but not limited to preparing maintaining and processing CAD documents to ensure the goals objectives and business needs of the Corporation are met with a high level of accuracy.
WHAT YOULL DO
- Manage all CAD files for the facilities department.
- Establish and maintain a uniform system for our in-house construction drawings and record drawings.
- Create exhibits related to construction projects.
- Maintain the campus and indoor finder maps.
- Maintain our usage mapping and details for insurance audits.
- Support the fire protection group with mapping updates.
- Assist with maintaining the overall facilities network file management system.
- Create campus signage for the facilities maintenance team to install.
- Work with our architects and civil engineers to properly transfer information.
- Support other CAD-related requests.
- Mentor and foster professional growth of junior staff while encouraging career progression within Gentex.
- Other duties as assigned.
HOW YOULL DO IT
- Ensuring accuracy The ability to self-check work for errors to ensure all drawings meet industry standards and project requirements.
- Optimizing work processes Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Building collaborative relationships - Developing maintaining and strengthening partnerships with others inside or outside the organization.
- Maintaining a high level of honesty integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
- Complying with all Company policies and procedures safety regulations company safety policies and safely perform all duties including but not limited to promoting a safe workplace.
WHAT TO BRING
- Bachelors degree in CAD Drafting or a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Strong proven ability to read and understand technical drawings construction drawings and sketches.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
WHAT WILL HELP
- 2 years of experience with commercial/industrial building construction and renovation drawings.
- A general understanding of architectural/engineering design of facilities and related infrastructure elements.
- A general understanding of construction methods and techniques.
- Experience with Revit or other CAD related software programs.
- Experience with Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.
