Details of Research Project:
In this research project the postdoctoral fellow will investigate the neurocircuitry and neuroinflammatory mechanisms associating myocardial infarction (MI) and sleep. Using murine models they will performed detailed activity and circuit mapping of the brains sleep centers after MI and evaluate the reprogramming and redistribution of immune cells in the brain. Causal interventional experiments will link these changes with heart healing and recovery.
Technical Duties: (include any protocols)
The candidate will maintain and breed transgenic mice perform brain imaging with immunofluorescent and light sheet microscopes conduct flow cytometry and sequencing analysis of brain immune cells evaluate heart function with echocardiography and MRI.
