The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Assistant Research Scientist position for the Molecular Imaging and Neuropathology (MIND) Area Molecular Imaging and Neuropathology (MIND) Area. This position involves processing and analysis of brain imaging data - mainly Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) - in a psychiatric brain imaging laboratory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Multiple stages of brain image data processing some using graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and some with command-line scripting
- Downloading data from PET and MRI centers into the laboratory database and managing the database to insure data are intact and available
- Quality control of imaging data
- Managing and prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously; maintaining excellent communication with multiple investigators regarding status of ongoing projects
- Assisting in preparation of methods results tables and figures for publications and presentations using programs including Excel SPSS PowerPoint Keynote and beyond.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree ideally in a relevant field such as biomedical engineering computer science mathematics physics or neuroscience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least (1) year of experience with data processing of functional and structural MRI and/or PET imaging data preferred.
