Job Summary
Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a passionate and dynamic Head Chef to join a luxury restaurant in Somerset West. This property seats 45 50 guests and offers a refined set-course menu along with snacks for the wine-tasting lounge. With a well-established management team and front-of-house structure already in place this is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious chef to take the lead.
The kitchen team consists of seven dedicated members and the position is well-suited to a strong Sous Chef ready to step into their first Head Chef role.
The successful candidate must:
Lead motivate and manage a kitchen team of seven
Be energetic and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Work collaboratively as part of a wider team
Demonstrate honesty reliability and clear communication
Possess a basic sense of business operations and paperwork requirements
Show urgency and efficiency in daily operations
Deliver high-quality cooking to the restaurant s set standards
Be creative and adept with seasonal menus
Have a deep connection to South African cuisine and indigenous ingredients
Display a solid understanding of classical cooking techniques
