- Ensure proper understanding of the required actions.
- Accurately complete role administration requirements and data capturing on systems.
- Ensure that security tasks are completed to required quality standards
- Report to Supervisor when task is completed.
- Identify and report all irregularities to Supervisor.
- Apply recognized work legislative and security standards
- Conduct allocated patrols (foot and/or vehicle) or checkpoint duties including ad hoc security assignment such as searches and roadblocks.
- Assist with crowd management during community unrest or other emergency situations.
- Gather information that could assist with violations crime incidents and risk management.
- Take appropriate action on observation of risk situations.
- Respond to security alarms and take appropriate action.
- Perform enforce and monitor access controls.
- Take appropriate action when a security issue is observed.
- Conduct surveillance activities to support investigations when required.
- Effective use of allocated equipment such as radios and telephones.
- Effective two-way communications with team members and visitors.
- Promote security awareness by reminding team members to follow work procedures and identifying problems with work practices.
- Maintain facilities equipment and personal image up to a high standard of presentation.
- Participate in required meetings including safety health environment initiatives.
- Gather information on crime / non-compliance and risk.
- Arrests all transgressors within the law.
- Process evidence / statements related to crime / non-compliance for disciplinary processes
- Attend disciplinary enquiries as a witness/complainant.
- Support effective teamwork amongst peers and assist when there is a need.
Qualifications :
- Grade 12
- Registered with the PSIRA in grade C
- PSIRA grade B or A
- SAPS Competency Certificate
Experience
- Experience within a Security environment or equivalent will be advantageous
- Cash in Transit (CIT) Training / experience
- Alcohol and/or Drug testing systems
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of the Firearms Control Act 60/2005
- Computer literacy
- Communications in English (spoken written and reading)
- Writing of statements and opening of a case docket
- Handling of various emergencies
- Good working relations
- Valid drivers license / Competent to drive security vehicle will be advantageous
- Armed Response training / experience will be advantageous
- Handle and Use (Business Purposes): will be advantageous
- Shotgun
- Self-loading Rifle
- Handgun 9mm
- Tactical training / experience will be advantageous
- Advanced Driving Course will be advantageous
