Second Cook-Food Services-Rivington-Beth Israel-Part-time-10:30AM-6:30P 5:30AM-1:30PM 6AM-2PM Shifts

Responsible for production and preparation of patient meals according to Production sheets and recipe cards following proper food handling procedures and all sanitary guidelines according to regulatory agencies. Produces portions and dispatches all food items assigned to ensure all patient and non-patient services are met.



Responsibilities

1. Responsible for safety and sanitation as well as preparation and distribution of menu items for assigned work areas (Patient Services Cafeteria and Special Functions)

2. Notifies and communicates any physical plant hazards to supervisors

3. Ensures quality quantity temperature and appearance of food produced meets departmental and regulatory standards

4. Adheres to established production and service procedures and ensures all food items are produced and/or dispatches in a timely manner and in accordance to department protocols: follows standardized recipes and completes production sheets for all menu items

5. Adheres to work schedules with regard to work days and job assignments as instructed by supervisors

6. Successfully completes annual physical examination

7. Uses various equipment while performing assigned tasks. Operates equipment in a safe manner and cleans all equipment according to established guidelines

8. Maintains compliance with OSHA / JCAHO standards

9. Follows standard practices for storing issuing covering labeling dating and rotating of foods

10. Properly disposes of waste and garbage

11. Receives and signs for all food and supplies issued

12. Communicates with Supervisor for daily and weekly assignments

13. Conducts yield test cutting tests recipe development

14. Any other duties as assigned by Management



Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year.
  • Culinary experience preferred but not required.
