We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Legal Counsel to join our APAC Legal Ethics and Compliance team supporting Egis operations in Australia and New Zealand.
Reporting to the APAC General Counsel this role provides independent solution-focused advice across contracts compliance litigation insurance and risk management. Youll work closely with project teams and senior stakeholders particularly on major projects within the consulting and construction space while also contributing to APAC-wide initiatives and ensuring best practice governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review draft and negotiate contracts including for major projects.
- Provide legal advice on disputes litigation and risk management strategies.
- Manage relationships with external counsel regulators and insurers.
- Monitor and interpret legislative changes impacting the business.
- Support renewal of insurance policies and manage insurer notifications.
- Deliver training and foster a culture of ethics and compliance.
- Represent the ANZ region in collaboration with APAC and Group legal teams.
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation dispute management litigation and major projects.
- Background in consulting engineering or construction projects.
- Strong people skills with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships.
- Excellent communication negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Admission as a solicitor in Australia.
- A proactive sleeves-up team player with a positive can-do attitude and no ego.
- High levels of integrity professionalism and adaptability.
