The Corporate Security & Resilience function strives to be modern flexible and agile operating in a challenging and rapidly changing environment. Knowledge of emerging threats and an everchanging need to review and adapt the security posture is in focus.
The main task of the function is to provide governance and operational support throughout the Vattenfall Group to ensure mitigation of security related risks as well as regulatory compliance in the countries where we operate.
The position of Group Civil Defence Officer is a key role for developing security and resilience within Vattenfall. The position entails responsibility for:
- Having a special responsibility to drive training and exercise activities for the benefit of all Vattenfall Group
- Develop and maintain Civil Defence-related governance procedures and guidance
- Chair and participate in groups and forums dealing with Civil Defence on a Group level
- Support Civil Defence-work on a Business Area (BA)/Business Unit (BU)/Staff Function (SF)-level. This includes but is not limited to training exercises preparedness planning capability building supply preparedness and war organisation.
- Lead and coordinate Civil Defence-work on a Group level when it includes more than one BA/BU/SF.
- Build up awareness and competence throughout the Vattenfall Group on why and how Civil Defence is important for the company.
Moreover the position will:
- Ensure interaction with relevant governmental bodies in Sweden not least in the energy sector.
- Follow the development and uphold external contacts within the area of Civil Defence for example regarding best practices and ensure suitable Vattenfall implementation
- Ensure that the work with Civil Defence is aligned with other fields within the security and resilience area such as Business Continuity Management Physical Security Information & Cyber Security and Protective Security.
Qualifications :
We are looking for an experienced security leader who engages with key stakeholders to find the best possible solutions to challenges. Excellent communication skills and individual drive are key success factors in this position. Furthermore the candidate we choose is likely to fit the following description:
- Excellent knowledge of Civil Defence and/or adjacent areas in security and resilience
- Experience from organizing trainings and exercises in the field of crisis management and/or civil defence
- Experience of security management in multi-stakeholder environments
- A relevant university degree on at least Bachelor level
- Minimum 10 years of experience in relevant positions
- Masters Swedish and our Group language English both spoken and written on an excellent professional level
- Good knowledge of EU and NATO and its requirements for the energy industry and
- Knowledge of Swedish total defence legislation and other relevant laws such as NIS2 CER and Swedish Protective Security.
Our chosen candidate will be structured analytical responsive and equipped with sound judgement. The candidate has a sound understanding of the societal and organisational challenges related to Civil Defence and strives for finding ways forward. Furthermore the candidates communication skills are at a high level as well as his/her integrity and ability to keep focus on what is important for Vattenfall. The person in this position can gain trust inspire and secure commitment on all levels of our international organisation. The ability to drive change is very important and the candidate most likely has a proven track record in leadership and/or management positions.
