The Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Ophthalmic Dispensing Technician (Teaching Technologist-Ophthalmic) to contribute to the delivery of high-quality clinical education within the University of Auckland Eye Clinic.
This role is pivotal in supporting the optometry programme by providing expert technical guidance in ophthalmic dispensing. You will work closely with academic staff and student optometrists to ensure the safe effective and timely delivery of dispensing services to the public. Your responsibilities will include supervising and supporting operational and clinical procedures advising on complex spectacle-related issues and maintaining high standards of service quality and compliance.
In addition to clinical support you will play an active role in the development and implementation of pedagogically sound learning materials and activities. You will collaborate with academic teams to align technical training with course outcomes contribute to assessment design and support innovation in teaching practices. This is an opportunity to influence the next generation of optometrists through a combination of technical expertise and educational leadership.
This is a fixed term (9 month) part time (15h 22.5h) position. The salary range for this role is between $72000 - $88900 (pro-rated) based on skills and experience. For more detailed information please refer to the Position Description
