Job Summary

The owner of a family-run tree and plant nursery in Ireland inspired by the world-class practices he encountered on his recent visit to Dutch nurseries is now seeking a Holland-based Production Expert to join the team in Co. Kildare. The aim is to bring leading Dutch horticultural methods back home to Ireland and strengthen production capabilities.

This position may be offered on a permanent contract or a consultancy arrangement with a comprehensive relocation package provided for those willing to move. Applications are invited exclusively from candidates currently based in The Netherlands who are interested in relocating ideally on a permanent basis.

We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially focused Production Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our tree and plant nursery.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed growing schedules to align with commercial sales periods.
Ensure strict adherence to production timelines (e.g. timely potting for seasonal readiness).
Monitor crop health and growth stages implementing proactive measures to secure quality.
Lead train and motivate staff fostering accountability and strong standards of performance.
Oversee both field and containerised nursery operations.
Manage machinery equipment and supply procurement to prevent operational delays.
Ensure compliance with environmental safety and regulatory requirements.
Track key performance indicators tied to output quality timing and readiness for market.
Drive efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives across the tree and plant nursery.

Requirements

Extensive commercial tree and plant nursery production experience with evidence of delivering to market deadlines.
Strong knowledge of propagation growing-on crop care and pest/disease management.
Excellent organisational and time management skills with a proven record of deadline delivery.
Demonstrated ability to train lead and inspire teams in a production environment.
Hands-on proactive approach with well-developed problem-solving and communication skills.
Based in The Netherlands and open to relocating to Ireland (consultancy engagement possible).
Fluent English.
